The Kina, featured in this piece is a type of sea urchin found throughout New Zealand. They shelter under and around rocks by day and come out to feed at night.
They can be traced back in fossil records to very early forms of life and are unlike any other modern animal.
Made from white porcelain. The Kina series features a textural relief design with a transparent crackle glaze inside and outside.
